We are excited to announce that the Roanoke Branch is hosting a virtual Lunch & Learn with Concrete Pipe & Precast (CP&P) on the topic of “The Use of Geopolymer Concrete to Mitigate the Effects of Microbially Induced Corrosion” presented by Jason Lambert. This lunch and learn will be presented virtually and will be worth 1.2 professional development hours. For those based in the Roanoke region, there will be an accompanying happy hour later in the evening.

Abstract: This presentation will discuss the properties and benefits of geopolymer concrete which contains zero Portland Cement in manholes and other concrete products. Key discussions during the presentation include the environmental and lifecycle advantages of geopolymer concrete, comparisons to its chemical resistance and structural performances, installation and design flexibility in real-world applications, cost-benefit analysis across product lifecycles, and why municipalities and utilities are making the switch.

Presenter: Jason Lamber – Vice President of Engineering, CP&P

With over 25 years of experience in the precast structures industry, Jason Lambert is a recognized authority on sustainable and resilient infrastructure. He is the past President of the Precast Concrete Structures Association of Florida and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Precast Concrete Association. Based in Tampa, Florida with his wife Nadine, Jason is a proud father of two sons – one of whom is a Gator Marching Band member at the University of Florida
