On Thursday November 19th, 2020 at 12 PM, the Richmond Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is holding a Younger Member Panel event. The event will take place virtually over Zoom. Targeted towards our members under 35 years of age, the event is intended to provide an opportunity for younger engineers to ask questions to senior level members of the engineering community regarding their career.
We intend to have each panelist discuss their background, work/life balance, steps they’ve made in their career paths (and why they made them), and any advice they have to offer. We currently have four panelists participating in the event, who are:
- Nancy Lehr, Senior Structural Engineer for Moffatt & Nichol
- Jeffrey Huffman, Vice President / Division Manager, Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Services for Draper Aden
- Gary Johnson, Director of Structures & Bridges, Director of Transportation Design Build for Timmons Group
- Nathan Mathis, Senior Engineer in the Department of Transportation of Chesterfield County
The event is planned to last approximately 1 hour. After a brief introduction for each panelist, a Q & A will follow. We plan to have 4-5 general questions, then open to specific questions from the audience. PDH’s can be provided upon request for this event. Please contact Brian Ditzler at brian.ditzler@timmons.com for additional information.
