Younger Member Panel
On Tuesday April 23rd, 2019 at 12 PM, the Richmond Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is holding a Younger Member Panel event. The event will take place at Timmons Group’s Corporate Office in the 2nd floor Commons conference room (1001 Boulders Parkway Richmond, VA). Targeted towards our members under 35 years of age, the event is intended to provide an opportunity for younger engineers to ask questions to senior level members of the engineering community regarding their career.
We intend to have each panelist discuss their background, work/life balance, steps they’ve made in their career paths (and why they made them), and any advice they have to offer. We currently have four panelists participating in the event, who are:
- Chessa Faulkner, Senior Engineer in the Department of Transportation of Chesterfield County
- Junie West, Principal and Private Development Division Manager for Timmons Group
- Michael Zmuda, Senior Associate and Survey/SUE Department Head for JMT
- Tim White, Vice President and Project Manager for Kimley-Horn
The event is planned to last approximately 1 hour. After a brief introduction for each panelist, a Q & A will follow. We plan to have 4-5 general questions, then open to specific questions from the audience. Lunch will be provided by Taziki’s Mediterranean Café and PDH’s are planned to be offered for the event.
